I’m a freelance writer with 12 years of experience copy writing, editing, and writing feature stories for magazines and websites.
On a freelance basis, I contribute to publications like AFAR, Sierra, Fodor’s, Hemispheres, Global Traveler, and The Saturday Evening Post. I recently won an award from the Society of American Travel Writers for my story on Copper River salmon in Edible Seattle’s May/June 2018 issue.
My article assignments and writing projects have taken me whitewater rafting on the Snake River in Idaho and Oregon; off-roading in Moab, Utah; exploring Macau, China; casting for Dungeness crab on the mouth of the Columbia River; and foraging edible seaweed by kayak in the Salish Sea. Most recently, I’ve written about hiking in to the crater of Mount St. Helens and backpacking Arizona’s Superstition Mountains.
