About

freelance writerWelcome to my site!

I’m a freelance writer and photographer with 11 years experience copy writing, editing, writing feature stories for magazines and websites, and grant writing for nonprofits. I currently split my time between Seattle and New Orleans.

Some of my recent articles include writing about the rapidly growing hard cider industry in the Northwest and the rebirth of the Pioneer Square neighborhood in Seattle, both for Seattle Weekly. I’m also writing articles for the website Puget Sound Starts Here; one of my latest is about avalanche rescue dogs at Cascade Mountain ski areas. I’m a travel correspondent for Forbes Travel Guide. Recent articles for Forbes include Catching Up with Seattle Chef Matt Lewis and The Sweet Treats of Seattle’s Top Chocolate Shop. I’ve started writing the Up and Comers column over at Eater Seattle, too.

I’ve also released an app, called Seattle Day Trips, forĀ  iPhone, iPad, and Android. I’m currently working on one called Seattle on the Cheap.

I also work as a grant writer, helping nonprofits across the U.S. secure funding to provide critical services to those in need. I thrive when I have a range of challenging projects, and, yes, I actually like grant writing!
